Bunaken Become the Best Diving Spot in the World

MANADO, ZONAUTARA.com – Bunaken National Marine Park become a winner of the best diving destination in the world. Taman nasional Wakatobi won the same title as Bunaken. That title given by Dive magazine. It is a second successivly achievement for indonesia.

Launched from the DiveMagazine website, Indonesia presents a variety of tourist spots with diverse habitats and species of marine biota.

The poll continued for a month in October 2017. There are three types of categories offered to voters to choose online. Namely the best destination (best destination), dive center or the best dive resort, and liveaboards (cruise or yacht to stay for tourists) is best.

Of the polls, Indonesia dominated the top 10 best diving destinations to beat heavy rivals such as the Philippines, Azires, Mexico, Maldives, Egypt, Bahamas, Thailand, Fiji and Papua New Guinea. Indonesia pocketed 1,067 votes or 11.45 percent of the total of 9,399 votes.

 

Bunaken National Marine Park, North Sulawesi

Bunaken National Marine Park known for its marine beauty has an area of ​​more than 75,000 hectares, 97 percent filled by the sea including Bunaken Marine Park. Bunaken Marine Park itself is known located in the world’s coral reef triangle.

Bunaken Marine Park is surrounded by five major islands namely Manado Tua Island, Bunaken Island, Siladen Island, Mantehage Island, and Naen Island which as a whole has 29 dive spots (dive spot).

Bunaken Island is one of the islands that has the most marine biodiversity or biodiversity in the world. About 58 types of coral reefs and 2,000 species of fish are ready to decorate your landscape during diving under the sea Bunaken.

 

Wakatobi National Park

Wakatobi was designated a marine park in 1996, with a total area of ​​1.39 million hectares. Occupying one of the highest priority positions of marine conservation in Indonesia concerning marine and coral biodiversity.

The beauty and richness of the Wakatobi National Park area is well known in foreign countries, especially after the Wallacea Expedition of England in 1995 which states that the region in Southeast Sulawesi is very rich in coral species.

How not, as many as 750 of the total 850 species of coral in the world present in Wakatobi National Park. In addition, the existence of 25 clusters of coral reefs and depths make the waters of Wakatobi Islands National Park an ideal place for various types of marine life to live, also makes the inhabitants of the sea here has a high aesthetic and conservation value.

Not to forget, the waters of Wakatobi often the arrival of “guests” that is whale (Physeter macrocephalus) and manta rays (Manta ray). A total of 93 species of fish and more than 112 species of corals from 13 families also enliven the beautiful scenery under the waters of Wakatobi waters.

The wealth of this marine biota is none other than the vast expanse of coral reefs along the waters with the colorful underwater topography such as slop, flat, drop-off, atoll, and underwater caves.
