Infiltration Between Combat Control Team And Paskhas

MANADO, ZONAUTARA.com – The joint exercise of Spear Iron, during March 13-14, 2018. Involves the Special Forces or Paskhas of the Indonesian Air Force and the Combat Control Team (CCT) Special Force of the United States (US).

The exercise of these two special units used the United States Air Force (USAF) Hercules C 130 aircraft, they are working together on various training, such as jumping, infiltration, SAR combat, and evacuation.

Director of Spear Iron Training 2018 Colonel Dicky Lukman explains, in the joint operations, Combat SAR is a part of air operations.

“SAR Combat operation has a goal to save personnel by tactical or strategic that missing into the enemies,” said Dicky to Zona Utara journalist, on Monday (12/3/2018)

The troops will be given a map of the location of the jumping zone and dropping zone. Later, SAR combat will study and made decisions when to jump, when to open parachute, and location of the jumping.

“In this operation, there are two options that can be implemented. High Altitude High Opening (HAHO), and High Altitude Low Opening (HALO). HAHO is when the personnel jump out of the plane that flew on highly, and immediately open the parachute. It is usually done in lurking the target area,” said Dicky.

If the personnel who do the jump by HALO, means the personnel is free to open the parachute at low altitude.

“This does when the target or enemy pursuit, and or quickly infiltrate to enemy area without being detected. We hope this can be successful, and increase the capacity of soldiers,” said Dicky.

Head of Air Base Information of Manado Sam Ratulangi Johny Gumansalangi said, that the Spear Iron exercise will take place in Minahasa Regency.
